The Orme Genealogy website was first Launched in 2002 by Andrew Orme, under the 'orme.ws' domain, and then moved to 'orme.uk' in November 2025.
This website was created to research and consolidate the heritage of the Orme name in one website.
Our Origins
Andrew Orme began researching his family name on the internet in 2002. Recognizing a gap in resources for Orme family history, Andrew created the Orme Genealogy website.
Ancestry DNA
In 2021, Andrew also used AncestryDNA to trace his origins from over 2,600 regions around the world. Take a look at the region estimate they created for him.
The Contributions of Stephen Orme
Much of the foundational information that enriches this website was generously provided by Stephen Orme in 2002, who hosted 'orme.org.uk' many years ago. His extensive research and dedication have been invaluable.
